Sturm's death

Honorable Knight of Solamnia, Sturm Brightblade, has died. Since i have known this five years ago, I was somewhat expecting his death from the day I started reading the English version. To my surprise, the last scene still made an impact. I'm not the young man easily moved anymore (or...was I?), but I could almost feel the wet in my eyes. (Umm, tears could have burst out if i wish, as i was good at.)

Well, it's not Sturm's death itself affected me. His death is a tragedy but solemn and stirring. His death is fated and well prepared. I could accept his death but i can't bear the pain of him and his friends.

He said nothing to the always-happy kender, like parents wont tell the children about terrible truth. He implicitly told the old dwarf (it seems there is no "young" dwarf existed in fantastic world) because he knew Flint would understand him and let him go. All he concerned is to persuade Laurana who is still a young girl from some point of view, more specifically, young elfin girl. Among all of them, the most painful one is Flint.

I simply love the old dwarf so much. I can't stop thinking how regretted i am not having a dwarf char in WoW, level 60 ofc. Stubborn and sentimental, fierce and fatherly, full of grumbles and warmhearted, that is Flint. Old daddy Flint, who is more like a clown with Tas in the book,exists without much use and heroic act. Even the kender has had his day. But our Flint always grumbles and causes trouble when there was no trouble, yet stern and reliable when they were in trouble. He is easily outraged, but he kept silent this time. Sturm is his friend, more than that, he watched Sturm rising up as a father. I have seen Flint angry, i have seen him worried, but this is the first time i feel such a deep sorrow upon him. At the moment he knew Sturm's death, without saying a word, Flint simply covered his eyes shortly. An act that pressed all his sorrow deeply into his heart.

"Take care of the kender. Good-bye, my friend."

To express feeling and thought in English is still a heavily dictionary depended work. Xinxin once said: language is only one tenth of your thought, now multiplied another one tenth by translating into a foreign language. Viewing from a good aspect, I must have seriously striking thoughts originally......
